The art direction, architecture and enemy designs all still look incredible, a testament to the design and detail at the core of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D - a confident, unique and inspired take on the tired JRPG. It’s just a shame the visuals can’t live up to its incredible premise, or equally marvelous soundtrack.Despite muted colors, fuzzy textures and jagged edges, however, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D manages to retain most of the beauty and grandeur that defined its original form on Wii. Xenoblade Chronicles 3D tells a story of war, loss, love and friendship, and while it may indulge in a few tropes - an orphaned boy with an all-powerful weapon - it largely treads fresh narrative ground on its way to the JRPG hall of fame. It’s hard not to be awed by the enormous halls, vast landscapes and incredible variety throughout the game, an effect bolstered by the fascinating lore of the Bionis and Mechonis. It’s a captivating premise, and one that only becomes more intriguing and impressive as the story unfolds. The world really is the star of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D. Equipped with the mysterious Monado, an ancient blade said to have been wielded by the Bionis itself, Shulk journeys all over the ancient hulking frames with his companions in seek of revenge against the Mechon menace. It’s on these dueling figures that all life exists, organic on the Bionis and mechanical on the Mechonis respectively, and like their titanic homes the opposing life forms are locked in an ageless struggle. And, just as it was on Wii, it’s the utter definition of a system-seller.The world of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is made entirely of water, save for the bodies of two titans frozen in time. On Wii U and 3DS, Nintendo has given Xenoblade Chronicles another shot at the success it deserves. With Shulk back in the spotlight thanks to Super Smash Bros. It’s a game far too many missed upon its initial release on Wii back in 2012, and an adventure absolutely worth experiencing.

#Tap tap revenge 3 soundtrack update#
The selection is just starting now but will grow constantly, without any update necessary (Tapulous can add them directly from iTunes Connect). As the first exclusive title on Nintendo’s latest and most powerful handheld, the New 3DS, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D carries an awful lot of pressure. The real benefit of Tap Tap 3 (at least for music lovers) are the in-app purchases that are really great for fans of a particular artist, and it’s great that Tapulous has managed to get so many artists to participate. Super casual players could stick with Tap Tap 2 without missing out on much, if you’re just in it for the basic gameplay and a selection of tracks. However, as an admittedly casual player, I felt that the addition of many of the new features may leave some players confused. With all the new online features and updated UI, there is a lot to love in Tap Tap Revenge 3.

My favourite feature is also the simplest – quick play mode starts a game as soon as you open the app, saving you the hassle of navigating through menus and getting distracted by new song downloads.Īddicts (and there are many out there) will really love this upgrade, and rightfully so. Tap Tap 3 is a social beast too – you can send messages and meet other players online inside the game. There’s also some seriously enhanced online play including chat, selectable avatars, profiles, Tap Tap coins and achievements. The main menu is much cleaner and the app shows that quite a bit of work has gone into developing this new UI.
